Guided Tasks Overview

Guided tasks are the core worker experience in Atanzo AI. The system walks a worker through a defined sequence of steps — one at a time, on their phone — narrating each step, waiting for confirmation, and then advancing to the next.

What Is a Guided Task?

A guided task is a structured workflow. Atanzo analyzes the task and generates the steps for you — you don't write them by hand. If your account has documents in the Knowledge Base — instruction manuals, standard operating procedures, site-specific checklists — Atanzo draws on them so the steps it generates match your actual equipment and process, not generic guidance. When a worker starts a session, they hear or read each step in order. They confirm when it's done — by voice or tap — and the system moves forward. The worker stays focused on the work, not on remembering what comes next.

Guided tasks are well suited for:

  • Equipment inspections and maintenance checks
  • Installation and commissioning procedures
  • Quality control walkthroughs
  • Any multi-step job where sequence and completeness matter

Guided Tasks vs. Coaching Mode

Both guided tasks and coaching mode use the same phone-based interface, but they serve different situations.

Use guided tasks when you want the worker to follow a defined sequence. The system controls the pace and confirms each step is complete before moving on.

Use coaching mode when the worker performs freely and the AI observes and comments in real time — correcting form, flagging deviations, or reviewing a procedure as it unfolds.

In short: guided tasks drive the worker through a process; coaching mode watches while they work. See Coaching Mode for more detail.

Accessing Guided Tasks

Guided tasks appear on the dashboard when the Guided Tasks capability is available on your account. If you don't see a workflow listed, contact your account administrator to confirm your access level.

What Happens During a Session

  1. Pick a workflow — select from the guided tasks available to you.
  2. Start the session — press Start. The first step is announced immediately.
  3. Follow each step — confirm completion by saying "done" or tapping Next. Steps advance in sequence.
  4. Use camera or knowledge as needed — at any step, you can ask a question and the system will reference your uploaded documents, or use the camera for visual identification.
  5. End the session — when all steps are confirmed, the session closes automatically. If your account has Coaching Mode provisioned, a session report is generated immediately, showing how the task was performed — including real-time metrics tracked during the session, a coach's written summary, and scores across the task's key dimensions.

Session Reports

Session reports are a Coaching Mode capability. If your account has Coaching Mode provisioned, Atanzo AI generates a report at the end of the session covering performance metrics, a coach's written summary, and scores across the task's key dimensions. See Session Reports for a full guide on reading and acting on reports, and Coaching Mode for what the capability includes.

  • Running a Guided Task — full step-by-step walkthrough of a session, including what you see when the session ends
  • Session Reports — what session reports contain and how to use them
  • Input Modes — voice, text, and camera options during a task
